Real Madrid will play Manchester United in the European Super Cup in Philip II Arena, Skopje, Macedonia, Tuesday (08/08/2017) or Wednesday morning GMT. The main highlight of the match is of course Jose Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Mourinho, who currently coach Man United, had menukangi Real Madrid in 2010-2013. Meanwhile Ronaldo is a former backbone of Man United in 2003-2009.
This is Ronaldo’s second encounter with his former club in a competitive event. Ronaldo and Man United have met in the last 16 of the Champions League 2012-2013 season where they defeated the Red Devils with a 3-2 aggregate.
Not only that, Ronaldo also adds hurt his former club by scoring two goals in both legs. Apparently, players numbered back seven is indeed a hobby to make the “ex” hurt.
Ronaldo also did the same when meeting another former club, Sporting CP. CR7, nicknamed, has met four times with the Portuguese club both in uniformed Man United and Real Madrid.
While still with The Red Devils, Ronaldo met Sporting twice in the Champions League group phase of the 2007-2008 season. Ronaldo won both matches and scored twice in each leg. One of the goals was a spectacular free kick that he followed with an iconic celebrity.
Nine years later, Ronaldo got a chance to meet Sporting again in uniformed Real Madrid. Uniquely, this encounter was like de javu nine years ago when he and Sporting met in Group F of the Champions League.
Ronaldo again made the former sick with a goal down one goal at the first meeting. At the second meeting, Ronaldo did not score but he still booked an assist for Real Madrid’s first goal scored by Raphael Varane.
The Manchester United fans may have to start preparing the heart. Although they can see Ronaldo in action, but the presence of the players is a nightmare for the former club.
